Alberico Gentili (14 Januari 1552 – 19 Juni 1608) adalah seorang pengacara, yuris, dan mantan advokat pendirian Italia untuk Kedutaan Besar Spanyol di London, yang menjabat sebagai Profesor Regius Hukum Sipil di Universitas Oxford selama 21 tahun.[note 1] Diakui sebagai pendiri ilmu hukum internasional,[note 2] Gentili merupakan salah satu orang paling berpengaruh dalam pendidikan hukum yang pernah hidup.[note 3] Ia adalah salah satu dari empat orang yang disebut sebagai "Bapak hukum internasional".[note 4] Gentili menjadi penulis terawal tentang hukum internasional publik[note 5] dan orang pertama yang memisahkan sekulerisme dari hukum kanon dan teologi Katolik Roma.[note 6] Pada 1587, ia menjadi Profesor Regius non-Inggris pertama.[note 7]
