Chua Ek Kay (Hanzi: 蔡逸溪; Pinyin: Cài Yìxī) (21 November 1947 – 8 Februari 2008) adalah seorang artis Singapura yang dijuluki sebagai "jembatan antara kesenian Asia dan Barat"[1] dengan gaya melukis menggunakan tinta Cina diatas kerta dengan cara mencampur bentuk lukisan Tiongkok tradisional dengan teori dan teknik kesenian Barat. Kebanyakan karyanya bertemakan suasana di jalanan Chinatown, teratai, dan karya abstrak yang terinspirasi dari lukisan gua aborigin Australia.

Tahun-tahun awal

Chua Ek Kay lahir di Guangdong, Tiongkok, pada 21 November 1947, sebagai anak sulung dari tujuh bersaudara. Pada 1950an, keluarganya berpindah ke Singapura, dan bermukim di Jalan Liang Seah.
