Daun jilat

Daun jilat (Villebrunea rubescens.) adalah tanaman asli Papua bagian pesisir yang digunakan sebagai penghilang sakit,memar oleh masyarakat lokal. Daun jilat banyak ditemukan di daerah Serui, Kepulauan Yapen,[1] Papua.

Masyarakat setempat biasanya menggunakan bagian dari daun jilat yang masih muda, kira-kira daun ketiga dari pucuk. Sesuai dengan nama dari daun tersebut, daun jilat ini awalnya dipanaskan kemudian diletakkan dipermukaan tubuh yang memar atau lebam dan dijilat. Setelah dijilat, darah akan keluar dari bagian tubuh yang memar/lebam dan menempel di daun yang digunakan. Masyarakat menganggap darah yang keluar tersebut merupakan darah mati atau darah kotor.

Daun jilat merupakan famili dari Urticaceae. Famili ini didistribusikan secara luas di seluruh Indonesia dari daerah beriklim tropis sampai daerah beriklim sedang. Beberapa spesies dari family Urticaceae memiliki senyawa golongan isoflavon, asam lemak, triterpenoid dan alkaloid. Menurut penelitian sebelumnya hasil skrining fitokimia menunjukan bahwa tumbuhan daun jilat ini mengandung senyawa Flavonoid, Alkaliod, Saponin, Tanin, dan Kuinon.[2]

Villebrunea rubescens atau daun jilat, tanaman ini termasuk dalam family Utricaceae dan merupakan tanaman herbal semak, berasal dari papua dan tumbuh pada daerah dataran rendah. Di Indonesia dikenal sebagai daun nangsi. Masyarakat dari Yapen Waropen Papua, menyebut tanaman ini dengan Airareraun, Ai berarti kayu, rare berarti jilat dan raun berarti daun. Daun jilat merupakan tanaman herbal berkayu, batang tegak berwarna tua, daun berwarna hijau dan pinggiran daun bergerigi. Bunga kecil-kecil dan tumbuh mengerombol yang muncul diketiak daun

Daun jilat (Villebrunea rubescens) merupakan jenis semak dari famili Urticaceae digunakan oleh masyarakat Yapen Waropen[3] untuk penyembuhan luka atau memar.
