Didier Patrick Queloz (lahir 23 Februari 1966) adalah astronom asal Swiss yang menemukan beberapa eksoplanet di Grup Astrofisika Cavendish Laboratory, Cambridge, dan Universitas Jenewa. Queloz, Michel Mayor, dan Jim Peebles dianugerahi Penghargaan Nobel Fisika pada tahun 2019.[1]

Pada tahun 1995, Queloz menjalani pendidikan S3 di Universitas Jenewa. Ia dan Michel Mayor, dosen pembimbingnya, menemukan eksoplanet pertama yang mengitari bintang urutan utama.[2] Atas penemuan ini, mereka dianugerahi Penghargaan Nobel Fisika 2019.

Queloz menganalisis 51 Pegasi menggunakan pengukuran kecepatan radial (spektroskopi Doppler) dan spektrograph ELODIE di Observatorium Haute-Provence. Ia terkejut karena menemukan planet dengan masa orbit 4,2 hari. Ia awalnya melakukan analisis ini untuk melatih keterampilannya.[3] Planet 51 Pegasi b ini bertentangan dengan teori pembentukan planet yang disepakati saat itu.

Ia menerima BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Award of Basic Sciences (bersama Michel Mayor) pada tahun 2011 karena mengembangkan instrumen astronomi dan teknik pengujian baru yang berbuah penemuan planet pertama di luar tata surya. Pada tahun 2017, ia menerima Wolf Prize in Physics.[4]
