Disiarkan di CBS dengan rating 28,6 juta pemirsa.[1]LL Cool J menjadi presenter di malam penganugerahan pada 10 Februari.[2] Nominasi diumumkan pada tanggal 5 Desember 2012. Sebagian besar penghargaan disajikan selama pra-siaran, yang berlangsung di Nokia Theatre. Bruce Springsteen mendapat the MusiCares Person of the Year Award pada 8 Februari 2013.[3]
