Skadron Udara 21 (atau Skadud 21) adalah satuan pelaksana operasional Lanud Abdurachman Saleh dan berkedudukan Iangsung dibawah Wing Udara 2. Skadron Udara 21 bertugas menyiapkan dan mengoperasikan pesawat tempur taktis untuk operasi lawan udara ofensif dan operasi dukungan udara.[1] Adapun operasi udara yang pernah dilaksanakan oleh Skadron Udara 21 antara lain Operasi Jaya Wijaya (Operasi Trikora) di Irian Jaya.[2]

Semboyan

Skadron Udara 21 memiliki semboyan Antar Patangga Labda Jaya, dari Bahasa Sansekerta yang artinya Berani berperang dan terbang diangkasa untuk mencapai kemenangan. Semboyan ini pun dijadikan tunggul Skadron Udara 21 dan disahkan berdasarkan surat keputusan Kepala Staf Angkatan Udara Nomor Kep/671/VI/2015 tanggal 22 Juni 2015 tentang tunggul Skadron Udara 21 Wing 2 Lanud Abd. Saleh.

Sejarah

Skadron Udar 21 dibentuk berdasarkan Skep Menteri/Kepala Staf Angkatan Udara Nomor 432 tahun 1960 dengan pesawat IL-28 di Kemayoran, Jakarta Pusat. Tahun 1963 dipindahkan ke PU (Pangkalan Udara) Lanud Maospati, Maospati, Magetan. Kemudian berdasarkan Keputusan Menpangau Nomor 39 tahun 1964 tanggal 4 Mei 1964, dipindahkan ke PU (Pangkalan Udara) Lanud Sultan Hasanuddin, Makasar. Pada tahun 1964, Skadron 21 dibubarkan berdasarkan Keputusan Menpangau Nomor 110 tanggal 19 Desember 1964, dan semua pesawat diserahkan ke (Puspenerbal) TNI Angkatan Laut. Tahun 2004, Skadron 21 diaktifkan lagi berdasarkan Keputusan Kepala Staf Angkatan Udara Nomor Kep/24/VIII/2004 tentang likuidasi unit OV-10 Bronco dan pengaktifan kembali Skadron 21 pada tanggal 18 Agustus 2004 dengan pesawat OV-10 Bronco dan ber-home base di Lanud Abdurachman Saleh, Malang. Saat ini Skadron 21 mengoperasionalkan pesawat EMB-314 Super Tucano.[3]

Pengaktifan Kembali Skadron Udara 21

Pangkoopsau II Marsda TNI I Gusti Made Oka memimpin upacara pengaktifan kembali Skadron Udara 21 dan mengangkat Letkol Pnb Marsudiranto Widiyatmaka sebagai Komandan Skadron Udara 21. Pengaktifan skadron ini sesuai dengan Surat Keputusan Kasau Nomor Kep/24/VIII/2004 tanggal 18 Agustus 2004 tentang Likuidasi Unit OV-10 F Bronco dan pengaktifan kembali Skadron Udara 21 Tempur Taktis dengan kekuatan pesawatnya OV-10 F Bronco. Pada tahun 2007, berdasarkan Keputusan Kasau No. Kep/203/X/2007 Pesawat OV-10 F Bronco tidak diperbolehkan terbang lagi dan dihapuskan dari kekuatan operasional TNI AU. Tahun 2012, empat Pesawat EMB 314/A-29 Super Tucano yang dipesan dari Brasil tiba pertama kali di Lanud Abdulrachman Saleh Malang dan menjadi kekuatan Skadron Udara 21 Lanud Abdulrachman Saleh Malang. Kedatangan pesawat ini dilaksanakan secara bertahap hingga mencapai 15 pesawat. Skadron 21 (XXI) awalnya dibentuk pada tanggal 1 Juni 1960 dengan Keputusan No. 432 tahun 1960 dengan kekuatan pesawatnya IL-28, berkedudukan di Lapangan Udara Kemayoran, dan berada di bawah Wing Operasional No.3. Berdasarkan Keputusan Menteri/Panglima Angkatan Udara No. 110 Tahun 1964 tanggal 19 Desember 1964, Skadron 21 dibubarkan, dan 18 Pesawat IL-28 diserahkan kepada Angkatan Laut Republik Indonesia (ALRI).
