}} Sri Dewa adalah seorang maharaja, yang pada tahun 1028 M mengirimkan utusan ke Tiongkok.[1][2][3] Dalam kronik Sejarah Song (Sòng Shǐ), namanya dicatat sebagai Shih-li Tieh-hua, yang diperkirakan bukan gelarnya yang lengkap.[1] Ia memerintah tidak lama setelah berbagai wilayah Sriwijaya diserang oleh Raja Rajendra I dari Dinasti Chola pada tahun 1025,[2][3] yang mana Raja Sangrama Wijayottunggawarman dari Sriwijaya berhasil dikalahkan dan tertawan oleh lawannya.[1] Penyerangan Chola tidak disertai dengan penjajahan wilayah Sriwijaya.[4][5]

Setelah penyerangan Chola, kekuasaan Sriwijaya di Sumatra tampaknya berhasil dipulihkan, tetapi berdamai dengan Kerajaan Kahuripan yang lalu mengklaim kekuasaan atas seluruh Jawa.[2] Raja Kahuripan Airlangga diperkirakan menikahi salah satu putri Sriwijaya tahun 1030, untuk memperkuat komitmen perdamaian tersebut.[1][2]

Ajaran Budha Mahayana sangat populer di Sriwijaya sekitar masa pemerintahan raja ini,[2] terbukti dari ditemukannya arca Lokanatha (Bodhisatwa Lokeswara) di Tapanuli yang dibuat pada tahun 1024,[2] serta cerita dalam catatan pendeta Nepal Atisha yang berkunjung ke Sriwijaya antara tahun 1011-23.[1]
