State Herbarium of South Australia, kadang-kadang disebut South Australian Herbarium, dan memiliki kode herbarium, AD, [1] terletak di Adelaide, Australia Selatan. Herbarium ini bertanggung jawab atas Electronic Flora of South Australia.[2] Selain itu juga menerbitkan jurnal, Swainsona (sebelumnya bernama Journal of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens).[3]

Sejarah

Pada tahun 1954, State Herbarium of South Australia didirikan sebagai bagian dari Kebun Raya Adelaide.[4] Koleksi flora pertama di herbarium ini dibuat oleh Richard Schomburgk (1811–1891) pada tahun 1875.

Koleksi Herbarium Negara termasuk milik Ralph Tate, John McConnell Black (melalui Museum Australia Selatan), herbarium lumut milik Profesor David Guthrie Catcheside (1907–1994), dan koleksi dari Field Naturalists Society of South Australia.[5]

Sejak tahun 2000, Herbarium berlokasi di gedung bersejarah Tram Barn A yang berdekatan dengan Bicentennial Conservatory Adelaide Botanic Garden di Hackney Road, Adelaide.[5][6]

Pada akhir tahun 2011, Herbarium ini akan mendaftarkan spesimennya yang ke satu juta, yang diperkirakan merupakan spesies baru.[7][8]

Juga pada tahun 2011, Herbarium menerbitkan versi daring dari Flora of South Australia, edisi ke-5.[9]
