Suku Kalumpang

Suku Kalumpang (Makki) merupakan suku bangsa yang mendiami bagian tenggara Kabupaten Mamuju, Provinsi Sulawesi Barat. Tersebar di 3 kecamatan yaitu Kalumpang, Bonehau dan Kecamatan Tommo[1]. Jumlah populasinya sekitar 10.000 jiwa dengan kepercayaan yang dianut adalah Kristen Protestan (terutama Gereja Toraja, Gereja Toraja Mamasa dan Gereja Kristen Sulawesi Barat). Mata pencaharian utama dari suku ini adalah bercocok tanam dan beternak.[2][3]

Suku Kalumpang merupakan salah satu dari dua situs Neolitik tertua di Indonesia yang menunjukkan bukti-bukti hunian masyarakat petutur Austronesia yang menjadi nenek moyang sebagian besar masyarakat Indonesia.[4] Salah satu tradisi yang masih melekat dari Suku Kalumpang adalah tradisi menenun, yang dikenal dengan tenun ikat tradisional sekomandi.[5] memiliki baju adat (bei)[6].
