Suku Luba atau Baluba adalah kelompok etnolinguistik asli pada region selatan-tengah dari negara Republik Demokratik Kongo.[2] Mayoritas dari suku ini tinggal di negara tersebut, bertempat tinggal terutama di provinsi Katanga, Kasai, and Maniema. Orang-orang Baluba terdiri dari banyak sub-kelompok yang berbicara dengan beragam dialek Luba (e.g. Luba-Kasai, Luba-Katanga) atau bahasa-bahasa lainnya, seperti Swahili

Suku Baluba mengembangkan masyarakat dan budayanya pada sekitar periode 400 CE (Common Era), kemudian berlanjut menjadi komunitas yang tertata di area yang dikenal sebagai Upemba Depression dan dikenal sebagai konfederasi Baluba.[3][4] Masyarakat Luba terdiri dari pekerja tambang, pandai besi, tukang kayu, pengrajin keramik, dan berbagai profesi lainnya.[5] Keberhasilan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat ini tumbuh pesat dalam beberapa waktu namun hal ini juga menyebabkan mereka menjadi sasaran kelompok-kelompok perbudakan, perampok, dan teroris yang dipimpin atau dipengaruhi oleh bangsa Portugis dan Oman sehingga berangsur-angsur masyarakat Luba mengalami kemunduran.
