Zaman Klasik atau Periode Klasik dalam sejarah musik Barat berlangsung selama sebagian besar abad ke-18 sampai dengan awal abad ke-19. Walaupun istilah musik klasik biasanya digunakan untuk menyebut semua jenis musik dalam tradisi ini, istilah tersebut juga digunakan untuk menyebut musik dari zaman tertentu ini dalam tradisi tersebut. Zaman ini biasanya diberi batas antara tahun 1750 dan 1820, tetapi dengan batasan tersebut terdapat tumpang tindih dengan zaman sebelum dan sesudahnya, sama seperti pada semua batasan zaman musik yang lain.

Zaman klasik berada di antara Zaman Barok dan Zaman Romantik. Beberapa komponis zaman klasik adalah Joseph Haydn, Muzio Clementi, Johann Ladislaus Dussek, Andrea Luchesi, Antonio Salieri dan Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, walaupun mungkin komponis yang paling terkenal dari zaman ini adalah Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart dan Ludwig van Beethoven.

Ciri-ciri musik zaman klasik:

  1. Menggunakan peralihan dinamik dari lembut sampai keras atau (crescendo) dan dari keras menjadi lembut (decrescendo).
  2. Perubahan-perubahan tempo dengan percepatan atau (accelerando) dan perlambatan (ritardando).
  3. Hiasan/ornamentik diperhemat pemakaiannya.
  4. Pemakaian akord 3 nada.
