Im April 2015 het d Clinton aakündigt, dass si im Novämber 2016 wider als Kandidatin vo de Demokrate wett aaträtte. Bi de letschte Vorwahle im Juni 2016 het si si schliesslich gege ihre parteiinterne Konkurrent Bernie Sanders duregsetzt und isch am 26. Juli uf em Nominierungsparteitag vo de Demokrate z Philadelphia zur Kandidatin gwählt worde.

Si isch sit 1975 mit em Bill Clinton verheiratet, wo vo 1993 bis 2001 dr 42. Präsident vo de Vereinigte Staate gsi isch. Si hän zäme ne Tochter, Chelsea Victoria (* 1980).
