"Dans un autre monde" (meaning "in another world"") is a song by Canadian singer Celine Dion from her sixteenth studio album, S'il suffisait d'aimer (1998). It was written by Jean-Jacques Goldman and produced by Goldman and Erick Benzi. The music video of Dion performing the song live was released in August 1999 to promote the Au cœur du stade album.

Background and release

After D'eux became the best-selling French-language album of all time, Dion reunited with Jean-Jacques Goldman to record another album together.[1] S'il suffisait d'aimer was recorded between September 1997 and July 1998, and produced by Goldman and Erick Benzi.[2] It included "Dans un autre monde", written by Goldman. In late August 1999, the music video of Dion performing "Dans un autre monde" live was released to promote the Au cœur du stade album and the home video of the same name.[3] Dion often performed "Dans un autre monde" during her concerts. In 2005, it was included on her greatest hits album, On ne change pas.[4]

Commercial performance

Although the song was not officially released as a single, it debuted on the airplay chart in Quebec on 30 January 1999, peaking at number 49.[5] In Belgium Wallonia, "Dans un autre monde" entered the airplay chart after the release of Au cœur du stade.[6] It reached number seven on 26 October 1999, and stayed inside top 50 for seven weeks.[6] In October 2019, "Dans un autre monde" debuted at number 117 on the chart in France based on sales, thanks to the digital downloads of the song.[7] It re-entered it again in April 2020, peaking at number 102.[8]

Music video

The official live music video was filmed at the Stade de France in Paris, during two sold out performances of the Let's Talk About Love World Tour on 19 and 20 June 1999.[9] It was directed by Gérard Pullicino and released in late August 1999 to promote the Au cœur du stade CD and DVD of the same name.[10] With with these two concerts, Dion became the first artist in history to perform for more than 90,000 spectators, with a grand total of over 180,000 ticketholders over the two nights.[11]
