Die Saison 1999/2000 war die 66. Spielzeit der Serie A1, der höchsten italienischen Eishockeyspielklasse. Meister wurde zum insgesamt 16. Mal in der Vereinsgeschichte der HC Bozen.

Modus

In der Hauptrunde absolvierte jede der 15 Mannschaften insgesamt 28 Spiele. Die fünf bestplatzierten Mannschaften der Hauptrunde qualifizierten sich für die Gruppe A der zweiten Saisonphase, deren Teilnehmer sich alle für die Playoffs qualifizierten, in denen der Meister ausgespielt wurde. Die übrigen zehn Mannschaften wurden auf die Gruppen B und C für die zweite Saisonphase aufgeteilt. Die Sieger der Gruppen B unc C qualifizierten sich ebenfalls für die Playoffs, während die Mannschaften auf dem zweiten Platz von Gruppe B und C gegeneinander in der Playoff-Qualifikation antreten mussten. Für die übrigen Mannschaften war die Spielzeit vorzeitig beendet. Für einen Sieg nach regulärer Spielzeit erhielt jede Mannschaft drei Punkte, bei einem Sieg nach Overtime gab es zwei Punkte, bei einer Niederlage nach Overtime einen Punkt und bei einer Niederlage nach regulärer Spielzeit null Punkte. Jede Mannschaft erhielt ein Drittel ihrer Punkte aus der Hauptrunde als Bonuspunkte für die zweite Saisonphase.
