Dhandera Rajputana is a census town in Haridwar district in the state of Uttarakhand, India. Dhandera is located at 29°50′N 77°53′E / 29.84°N 77.89°E / 29.84; 77.89.[1]

About

As of 2001 India census,[2] Dhandera had a population of 15,297. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Dhandera has an average literacy rate of 55%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 62% and, female literacy is 48%. In Dhandera, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.

As per census2011.co.in data the Current estimated population of Dhandera Town in 2024 is approximately 32,900.

This village has never been a slave of any princely state, although the nearest city to Dhandera is Roorkee which itself was a Rajput princely state which was founded by a Rajput king named Roodha Singh, the second nearest princely state to Dhandera was Landhaura but Dhandera never joined this princely state. And even today, Dhandera has the highest population of Rajputs which includes both Hindu and Muslim Rajputs and the population of Pahari Rajputs is also very high here, a large number of Pahari and Hindu Rajputs of Dhandera are also in the Indian Army and many sons of Mother India from this village have been martyred for the country. People of other castes also live in Dhandera which includes Pandit, Pahadi, Valmiki, Harijan and Pal. In 2024 this village is converted into nagar panchayat Dhandera
