At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population (as part of the former Dehdez District of Izeh County) was 5,360 in 1,000 households.[4] There were 3,865 inhabitants in 833 households at the following census of 2011.[5] The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 3,419 in 810 households. The most populous of its 58 villages was Posht Asiab, with 384 people.[2]
In 2021, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Dezpart County, and the rural district was transferred to the new Central District.[3]
