Election results for Ashfield, New South Wales, Australia
Ashfield , an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales , had three incarnations, the first from 1894 to 1920, the second from 1927 to 1959 and the third from 1968 to 1999.[1] [2] [3]

Royal Commission reported that Jarvie had attempted to bribe the
Chief Secretary ,
[30] however in the following month he was found not guilty of criminal charges.
[31] Jarvie subsequently chose to resign and re-contest the seat.

Ashfield lost part of the district to Burwood and was expanded to include part of
Petersham .
Frederick Winchcombe (Liberal Reform) was the member for Ashfield. The member for Petersham was
John Cohen (Liberal Reform) who successfully contested that electorate.
