Midville is a city in Burke County , Georgia , United States. The population was 269 at the 2010 census,[ 5] and 385 in 2020. It is part of the Augusta, Georgia metropolitan area .
History
The Georgia General Assembly incorporated Midville as a town in 1877.[ 6] The community was so named on account of its central location between Macon and Savannah.[ 7]
Geography
Midville is located in the southwest corner of Burke County at 32°49′17″N 82°14′12″W / 32.82139°N 82.23667°W / 32.82139; -82.23667 (32.821321, -82.236586).[ 8] The southern border of the city is the Ogeechee River , which is also the county line.
According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 2.0 square miles (5.2 km2 ), of which 0.008 square miles (0.02 km2 ), or 0.34%, is water.[ 5]
