I've reverted the changes to the North Dakota template to bring it back in line with other state templates. I see that the New York template is similar to the new ND template, but the Kansas and California ones are still very much like the old one.
I think the new template was also too harsh on the size of North Dakota cities; nobody in North Dakota considers Fargo the only major city. I've put up an alternate version for discussion --Alexwcovington (talk) 15:27, 25 Feb 2005 (UTC)
This alternate template looks much better than this current version. I feel it should replace this current version (but the name would have to be changed to Template:North Dakota). //MrD905:30, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2006-03-19T05:30:00.000Z","author":"MrD9","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-MrD9-2006-03-19T05:30:00.000Z-Changes","replies":[]}}-->

Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. states/state templates lists and displays all 50 U.S. state (and additional other) templates. It potentially can be used for ideas and standardization. //MrD907:19, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2006-03-19T07:19:00.000Z","author":"MrD9","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-MrD9-2006-03-19T07:19:00.000Z-U.S._state_templates","replies":[]}}-->

There is currently an ongoing discussion regarding standardization of state templates (primarily regarding layout and styling) at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject U.S. states/state templates. An effort was made earlier this year to standardize Canadian province templates (which mostly succeeded). Lovelac7 and I have already begun standardizing all state templates. If you have any concerns, they should be directed toward the discussion page for state template standardization. Thanks!—WebdingerBLAH | SZ22:57, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2006-08-27T22:57:00.000Z","author":"Webdinger","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Webdinger-2006-08-27T22:57:00.000Z-Standardization_of_state_templates","replies":[]}}-->
It seems a little pathetic to refer to Beulah, Hazen, Rugby, and even Grafton as "large cities." I propose that we limit the cities in this section to just those of over 5,000 people. --MatthewUND(talk)06:05, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2007-09-03T06:05:00.000Z","author":"MatthewUND","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-MatthewUND-2007-09-03T06:05:00.000Z-Large_cities","replies":[]}}-->
