Callaeas es un género de ave paseriformes perteneciente a la familia Callaeidae, endémico de Nueva Zelanda. Agrupa a dos especies conocidas como kokako,[2]​ aves forestales de plumaje grisáceo y carúnculas carnosas a ambos lados del pico.

El género incluye las siguientes especies:[3]​

Ambas especies fueron tratadas tradicionalmente como una sola, bajo el nombre Callaeas cinerea, con dos subespecies diferenciadas correspondientes a las islas Norte y Sur. Estudios posteriores, incluidos análisis genéticos, llevaron a su reconocimiento como especies independientes.[6]​
