Dan-Olof Riska

Dan-Olof Wilhelm Riska (s. 29. maaliskuuta 1944 Tukholma) oli Helsingin yliopiston ruotsinkielisen fysiikan opetuksen professori vuodesta 1980 vuoteen 2007 saakka[1] ja Fysiikan tutkimuslaitoksen johtaja vuoteen 2012 saakka.[2] Riska toimi Suomen Tiedeseuran esimiehenä 1998-2001 ja rahastonhoitajana vuodesta 2006 vuoteen 2020. Hän toimi Kyproksen tutkimus- ja opetussäätiön ja Kyproksen Instituutin hallitusten puheenjohtajana vuodesta 2015 vuoteen 2023.

Hän oli Euroopan ydintutkimusjärjestö CERNin hallintoneuvoston varapuheenjohtaja ja CERNin Eläkesäätiön hallituksen puheenjohtajana kaudella 2010–2012. [3] Aiemmin Riska on toiminut muun muassa Michiganin valtionyliopiston ja Stony Brook Universityn apulaisprofessorina.[2]

Riskan vanhemmat olivat professori Olof Riska ja rakennushistorioitsija Tove Riska.[4]
