Einar W. Juva

Einar W. Juva poikiensa Klaun (vas.), Mikon ja Juhanin kanssa talvella 1929.

Einar Wilhelm Juva (vuoteen 1935 Juvelius; 7. tammikuuta 1892 Raahe – 6. syyskuuta 1966 Turku) oli suomalainen historioitsija.

Einar W. Juva valmistui tohtoriksi vuonna 1920. Hänen tieteellinen tutkimuksensa käsitteli pääasiassa Suomen 1700-luvun historiaa, minkä lisäksi hän kirjoitti oman aikansa merkkihenkilöiden, kuten P. E. Svinhufvudin ja Rudolf Waldenin, elämäkertoja. Juvasta tuli Helsingin yliopiston Suomen historian dosentti vuonna 1920. Pääosan työurastaan hän teki Turun yliopistossa, jonka Suomen historian professorina hän toimi vuodesta 1929 vuoteen 1955. Lisäksi Juva toimi yliopiston rehtorina vuosina 1934–1945 ja vararehtorina vuosina 1934 ja 1948–1951 sekä humanistisen tiedekunnan dekaanina vuosina 1933 ja 1953–1954.

Tutkimustyönsä lisäksi Juva toimi useissa luottamustehtävissä, muun muassa Suomen Historiallisen Seuran esimiehenä vuosina 1933–1934 ja Turun yliopiston ylioppilaskunnan inspehtorina vuosina 1930–1932. Vuonna 1936 Juva kutsuttiin Suomalaisen Tiedeakatemian jäseneksi.

Einar W. Juvan poika oli arkkipiispa Mikko Juva.
