Pekka Seppä

Pekka "Pablo" Seppä (s. 1946[1]) on suomalainen muusikko ja näyttelijä, joka tunnetaan yleensä taiteilijanimensä mukaan Pablo Seppänä. Hän on evakkoperheen poika, joka syntyi junassa Heinolan ja Lahden välissä ja vietti lapsuutensa Kokemäellä. Teini-ikäisenä Seppä alkoi harrastamaan trumpetinsoittoa, esikuvinaan Jörgen Petersen ja Ossi Runne. Keskikoulun ja armeijan jälkeen hän oli YK-joukoissa Kyproksella, jonka jälkeen Seppä opiskeli hetken aikaa Porin kauppaopistossa.[1]

Ura

Vuonna 1968 Seppä liittyi Pentti-Oskari Kankaan pari vuotta aikaisemmin perustamaan Seitsemän seinähullua veljestä -yhtyeeseen ja muutti samalla Tampereelle. Hän oli yhtyeessä vuoteen 1976 saakka, jonka jälkeen Seppä aloitti opiskelun ravintolakoulussa ja valmistui kokiksi. Vuonna 1977 hänellä oli oma Pablo & Publikaanit -niminen yhtye, joka esiintyi yhdessä Pekka Loukialan kanssa, ja vuodet 1979–1982 Seppä soitti Pertti Metsärinteen orkesterissa. Hän oli mukana myös vuonna 1979 perustetun Uuden Iloisen Teatterin toiminnassa ja liittyi 1980-luvun alussa uudelleen Seitsemään Seinähulluun Veljekseen, jossa Seppä tällä kertaa soitti vuoteen 1991 saakka.[1]

Näyttelijänä hänet tunnetaan Uuden Iloisen Teatterin lisäksi muun muassa Tampereen Työväen Teatterista ja Pyynikin Kesäteatterista. Pablo on esiintynyt vuosien varrella monissa muissakin kesäteattereissa ympäri Suomea. Näitä ovat esimerkiksi Imatran, Turun, Lappajärven ja Mikkelin kesäteatterit. Vuosina 1994-1995 Seppä esiintyi TV2:n tuottamassa Kokkelivekkulit-lastenohjelmassa yhdessä Ransu Karvakuonon kanssa.

Pablo on työskennellyt myös risteily- ja viihdeisäntänä eri laivayhtiöiden risteilylaivoilla ja erilaisten matkailukerhojen viihdeisäntänä.

Vuonna 2010 Sepälle myönnettiin valtion taiteilijaeläke.[2]
