O Association Sportive de Monaco é un equipo de baloncesto profesional con sede na cidade de Fontvieille, Mónaco. O equipo, parte do club polideportivo AS Monaco, compite actualmente na LNB Pro A, a máxima categoría do baloncesto francés, e na Euroliga. Disputa os seus partidos como local na Salle Gaston Médecin, un pavillón con capacidade para 4 090 espectadores.

Historia

En 1928, uns catro anos despois de que se fundase o club deportivo AS Monaco, é creada a súa sección de baloncesto. Un dos seus primeiros éxitos chegou na temporada 1949−50, ano no que finalizaron como subcampións do Championnat de France de basket-ball, máxima competición do baloncesto galo. O equipo, tras finalizar primeiro do Grupo B e chegar á final do campionato, perdeu no partido definitivo xogado o 23 de abril de 1950 en París por 52−40 ante o ASVEL. Tras descender a cateogrías inferiores, en 1973 o equipo consegue finalizar primeiro da Segunda División. Tras o ascenso á máxima categoría, no seu primeiro ano finalizan en noveno lugar, sendo invitados para xogar na seguinte temporada a Copa Korać. Con todo, son eliminados na fase de grupos ante o ASVEL, o Levski Sofia e o AMG Sebastiani.[1]

Na década de 1980 o equipo de Mónaco convértese nun dos contendentes ao título, chegando a ser subcampións de Francia en 1983, tras perder na final por 96−81 ante o Limoges CSP. Esa mesma temporada volveran xogar na Copa Korać, onde perderon no Top 16 ante o Dinamo Moscova. En 1985 chega ao equipo o ex-NBA Robert Smith, que chega a ser omeado MVP do All-Star da liga francesa en 1987. Despois da saída de Smith do club, o Monaco descende de categoría, primeiro á Segunda Divisón e pouco despois á Nationale 1. Tras vagar pola Nationale 2, cuarta división, o equipo ascende desde 2012 até 2015 de forma consecutiva até regresar á Pro A. Nos seus tres primeiros anos após o retorno á elite, o equipo finaliza e terceiro, quinto e segundo lugar. Ademais, volve a xogar de novo en Europa, finalizando terceiro e segundo nas dúas primeiras edicións da Basketball Champions League. Na temporada 2020−21 o club consegue o seu primeiro gran título europeo ao gañar a EuroCup. Este título permitiu o debut do club na Euroliga, onde acadou na súa primeira participación o sétimo posto, sendo eliminados nas eliminatorias de cuartos de final polo Olympiacos por 3−2.
