Josh Woodward é un cantautor residente en Findlay, Ohio. Compón música rock acústica, folk e alternativa, e interpreta e produce as súas propias obras, distribuíndoas libremente. A súa carreira musical comezou a principios do ano 2002[1] e continúa a día de hoxe.

Josh Woodward foi un dos músicos pioneiros no uso de licenzas Creative Commons e na venda de álbums deixando a escolla do prezo ao comprador.   • “Breadcrumbs” («migallas» en inglés), publicado en outubro do ano 2009.

Todos os seus álbums contan con versións con voz e instrumentais, e están dispoñibles tanto para a súa descarga de balde como para mercalos. Asemade, Woodward publica no seu sitio web versións preliminares de temas que posteriormente inclúe en álbums. Os temas están dispoñibles en formatos comprimidos ─OGG (a través de Jamendo) e MP3─ e sen perdas, e tamén están dispoñibles case sempre as letras e notacións musicais en formato estadounidense.
