Luz foi un xornal español publicado en Madrid[1], sucesor do diario Crisol[2] e fundado por Félix Lorenzo o 7 de xaneiro de 1932[2][3]. Nos seus inicios estivo relacionado coa figura de Ortega y Gasset e a Agrupación  ao Servizo da República[4], e en xeral co republicanismo liberal[5]. O proxecto foi un fracaso económico, superado por La Voz e El Sol[2]. Posteriormente mercouno o empresario catalán Luis Miquel[6], orbitando cara ao azañismo[7] dirixido por Luis Bello[8]. Desapareceu en setembro de 1934, substituído por Diario de Madrid[9].

Ideoloxía política

Luz foi un xornal de clara ideoloxía republicana que apoiou principalmente ao partido Acción Republicana (AC). Dedicou gran parte dos seus textos de carácter político a defender a estabilidade gobernamental do gabinete de Manuel Azaña. Luz defendeu con fervor un estado de carácter laico, progresista, autonomista, reformista –no exército e na agricultura- e arredado das prácticas caciquís e anticuadas da monarquía e a ditadura.
