To Anyone adalah album studio debut dari grup hip hop wanita asal Korea Selatan, 2NE1. Album ini dirilis pada tanggal 9 September 2010 oleh YG Entertainment. 2NE1 bekerja bersama CEO YG Entertainment Yang Hyun Suk, Teddy, dan e.knock untuk memproduksi album ini. Secara musik, album ini diklasifikasikan sebagai hip hop, pop, R&B, dan dance.

Album ini mendapat penyambutan yang beragam. Sementara album ini dipuji karena kualitas produksi terbaiknya, keluhan sering muncul mengenai terlalu seringnya penggunaan perangkat lunak auto-tune maupun vocoder. To Anyone memulai debutnya di nomor satu pada tangga lagu album mingguan Gaon Chart, dan juga berada di nomor satu tangga lagu bulanan. Secara total, album ini telah terjual sekitar 100.000 eksemplar.

Sembilan singel telah dirilis atau dipromosikan dari album ini. Remix reggae dari "I Don't Care" adalah singel pertama. Lagu solo "Kiss" dari Dara dirilis berikutnya dan diikuti lagu solo Bom, "You and I". CL dan anggota termuda, Minzy merilis duet mereka "Please Don't Go" sebagai singel keempat. Grup ini bersatu kembali untuk singel "Try to Follow Me" dan meraih tempat teratas di Gaon Chart. "Clap Your Hands", "Go Away", dan "Can't Nobody" semuanya dirilis pada tanggal 9 September 2010 sebagai singel promosi dan diikuti dengan "It Hurts (Slow)".

Perkembangan dan latar belakang

Pada bulan Agustus 2010, CEO YG Entertainment Yang Hyun Suk mengumumkan bahwa 2NE1 akan mempromosikan tiga judul lagu untuk album perdana mereka. Setiap singel promosi akan memiliki sebuah video musik yang akan menyertainya. Singel-singel tersebut kemudian diumumkan sebagai Clap Your Hands", "Go Away", dan "Can't Nobody". "Clap Your Hands" ditulis dan disusun oleh produser e.knock, sedangkan "Go Away" dan "Can't Nobody" dibuat oleh Teddy Park.

Dua hari sebelum album dirilis, pra-pemesanan untuk album itu mencapai 120.000 eksemplar.[1] Pada akhir September, album itu terjual 100.000 eksemplar.[2]

Pada tanggal 28 Oktober, diumumkan bahwa grup ini akan kembali merilis album di Jepang pada tanggal 8 Desember 2010dibawah label rekaman Avex.[3] Dirilisnya To Anyone di Jepang akan menandai debut grup ini disana. Namun ini kemudian diumumkan bahwa perilisan album ini tertunda karena YG Entertainment dan Avex ingin mengembangkan album ini lebih lanjut.[4] Album ini juga diumumkan akan dijual di Thailand pada 28 Oktober.[5] YG Entertainment juga mengumumkan kemitraan mereka dengan Universal Records untuk merilis album ini di Filipina.[6]

Musik dan lirik

To Anyone diklasifikasikan sebagai pop,[7] tetapi mengandung unsur kuat dari musik dance[8] dan R&B. Dari liriknya, album ini adalah tentang kemerdekaan perempuan. "Go Away" tentang mengatakan pada seorang pria untuk "pergi jauh" selama putus cinta.[9]
