Wadian

Wadian/Balian/Belian adalah upacara pengobatan pada suku Dayak Bawo, Dusun, Maanyan, Lawangan, Benuaq dan Suku Bukit yang menganut agama Kaharingan. Suku-suku serumpun ini hidup bertetangga di sekitar wilayah yang berbatasan di Kalimantan Tengah, Kalimantan Timur dan Kalimantan Selatan. Sedangkan pada suku Melayu pedalaman (Suku Melayu Petalangan/Suku Talang mamak) disebut Bulian. Seringkali juga dipakai sebagai sebutan untuk orang yang mengobati (tabib) dalam upacara pengobatan tradisional Dayak tersebut yang dinamakan balian dalam berbagai dialek seperti bolin (Dayak Pesaguan), boretn (Dayak Simpakng), baliatn (Dayak Jalai).

Wadian di Kalimantan Tengah

Wadian adalah salah satu upacara adat suku Dayak (Dusun, Maanyan, Lawangan, Bawo) yang menganut Kaharingan ^[1] di antaranya dalam rangka pengobatan terhadap orang sakit. Zaman dahulu kala, saat pengobatan medis tidak semaju sekarang, orang-orang Dayak memanfaatkan jasa wadian untuk mengobati sakit yang mereka derita. Lama atau tidaknya ritual pengobatan tergantung dari parah tidaknya penyakit yang diderita, Upacara Wadian dapat berlangsung selama 1 minggu lebih. Jenis wadian antara lain: Wadian Pangunraun (Pangunraun Jatuh, Pangunraun Jawa), Wadian Dapa, Wadian Tapu Unru, wadian dadas, wadian bawo, wadian bulat.

Dewasa ini, selain untuk pengobatan, wadian juga telah dikembangkan sedemikian rupa menjadi salah satu kesenian daerah yang dapat dinikmati sebagai sebuah atraksi kesenian yang sangat menarik. dan juga digunakan pada waktu upacara kawin yang biasa disebut wurung jue.

Belian di Kalimantan Timur

Belian atau beliatn adalah sebutan wadian dalam bahasa Benuaq dan Tunjung di Kutai Barat, Kalimantan Timur. Belian Bawo adalah salah satu upacara pengobatan oleh Suku Dayak Benuaq dan Suku Dayak Tunjung

Balian di Kalimantan Selatan

Balian adalah sebutan upacara pengobatan pada Suku Dayak Balangan (bagian dari Suku Dayak Maanyan) di Kabupaten Balangan dan Suku Dayak Bukit di Kalimantan Selatan. Suku Dayak Balangan memiliki upacara balian bulat. Tradisi balian ini dibuat menjadi suatu atraksi kesenian yang disebut Tari Tandik Balian.

Bulian di Riau

Bulian adalah sebutan upacara pengobatan pada suku Melayu pedalaman Riau yang disebut Suku Melayu Petalangan/Suku Talang Mamak di Kabupaten Indragiri Hulu. Tradisi bulian ini dibuat menjadi suatu atraksi kesenian yang disebut Tari Rentak Bulian. Nilai-nilai yang terkandung pada pengobatan tradisional Melayu Riau ini sangat cenderung kepada hal-hal gaib dikarenakan pada zaman dahulu belum mengenal pengobatan medis atau pengobatan serba canggih. Dan kebudayaan ini lama kelamaan mulai pudar.
