Edisono lemputė

Elektros lemputė – pakeičiamas elektrinis šviestuvo ar kartais buitinio ar kitokio prietaiso komponentas.

Anglų chemikas Humphry Davy pirmasis pasiūlė tiek kaitrines (1802 m.) tiek ir pirmąsias praktiniam naudojimui tinkamas anglies lanko (1806 m.) lemputes.[1] 1870 m. ši anglies lanko lempa jau buvo daug kur naudojama.[2] Thomas Edison ir Joseph Swan apie 1880 m. pradėjo masinę kaitrinių lempučių gamybą.[3] Thomas Edison nėra lemputės išradėjas, tačiau daug dirbo kurdamas komerciškai sėkmingą gaminį, lemputės siūleliui išbandė daugiau nei 6000 įvairių medžiagų.[4]
