Avant-garde

Avant-garde (/ˌævɒ̃ˈɡɑːrd/;^[2] Perancis: [avɑ̃ɡaʁd];^[3] dari Perancis, 'advance guard' atau 'vanguard', secara harfiah 'fore-guard')^[4] ialah individu atau karya yang bersifat eksperimental, radikal, atau bukan ortodoks dan rasa hormat kepada seni, budaya, atau masyarakat.^[4]^[5]^[6] Ia sering dicirikan oleh inovasi estetik dan ketidakterimaan awal.^[7]
