Jaundis

Jaundis, juga dikenali sebagai ikterus, ialah pigmentasi kekuningan atau kehijauan pada kulit dan sklera akibat paras bilirubin yang tinggi.[1][2] Jaundis pada orang dewasa biasanya merupakan tanda yang menunjukkan kehadiran penyakit asas yang melibatkan metabolisme hem yang tidak normal, disfungsi hati, atau halangan saluran hempedu.[3] Kelaziman jaundis pada orang dewasa jarang berlaku, manakala jaundis pada bayi adalah perkara biasa, dengan anggaran 80% terjejas semasa minggu pertama kehidupan mereka.[4] Gejala jaundis yang paling biasa dikaitkan ialah kegatalan,[5] najis berwarna pucat, dan air kencing berwarna gelap.[6]
