Heidi Rakels (Leuven, 22 juni 1968) is een Belgische voormalige judoka.

Rakels nam als judoka tweemaal deel aan de Olympische Zomerspelen. In 1992 won ze een bronzen medaille in de categorie middengewicht tot 66kg, in 2000 eindigde ze vijfde in de categorie halfzwaargewichten tot 78kg.

Ze is burgerlijk ingenieur computerwetenschappen van opleiding en stopte in 2004 met het beoefenen van topsport. Vervolgens ging ze aan de slag als zelfstandig software-ingenieur. In 2014 richtte ze samen met haar man Eric Lafortune, zoon van Belgisch olympisch schutter en mederecorddeelnemer Frans Lafortune, het bedrijf Guardsquare op, dat beveiligingssoftware voor mobiele applicaties ontwikkelt en met succes verkoopt. Eind 2019 verliet ze Guardsquare.[1] Sinds september 2020 is ze lid van de Topsportcommissie van Judo Vlaanderen. Tevens bekleedt ze mandaten bij verschillende ondernemingen en is ze zelfstandig coach voor start-ups en scale-ups. In september 2021 was ze kandidaat-voorzitster van het Belgisch Olympisch en Interfederaal Comité (BOIC),[2] maar verloor ze de voorzittersverkiezing van Jean-Michel Saive.[3]
