Malcolm Cecil (9. januar 1937–28. mars 2021) var ein britisk jazzbassist og Grammyprisvinnande plateprodusent.

Cecil var fødd i London og var med å skipe ein av dei leiande jazzkvintettane i Storbritannia på slutten av 50-åra, The Jazz Couriers,[1] før han var medlem av fleire britiske jazzcomboar leia av Dick Morrissey, Tony Crombie og Ronnie Scott seint i 1950- åg tidleg i 1960-åra.[2] Seinare vart han med Cyril Davies og Alexis Korner i den originale besetninga av Blues Incorporated.

I lag med Robert Margouleff skipa han duoen TONTO's Expanding Head Band, eit prosjekt som brukte ein unik kombinasjon av synthesizerar som gjorde at dei samarbeidde med og samproduserte fleire av dei prisvinnande albuma til Stevie Wonder tidleg i 1970-åra som Talking Book (1972), Music of My Mind, Innervisions og Fulfillingness' First Finale.

Cecil og Margouleff var òg lydteknikarar på det Wonder-produserte albumet Perfect Angel (1974) av Minnie Riperton.

Den unike lyden deira gjorde dei ettersøkte og dei samarbeidde mellom andre med Quincy Jones, Bobby Womack, The Isley Brothers, Billy Preston, Gil Scott-Heron, Weather Report, Stephen Stills, The Doobie Brothers, Dave Mason, Little Feat, Joan Baez og Steve Hillage.
