«Precious Angel» er ein song skriven av Bob Dylan og ført gjeven ut på albumet hans Slow Train Coming i 1979. Han kom ut på singel i Nederland.

«Precious Angel» er ein religiøs kjærleikssong.[1] Under ein konsert i Seattle den 14. januar 1980 hevda Dylan at songen var til kvinna som førte han til kristendomen.[1] Teksten inneheld mange referansar til Bibelen.[1][2][3] Temaet i songen verkar å vere henta frå Paulus’ andre brev til korintarane 4:4 til 4:6, der lyset frå Kristus vert sett opp som ein motsats til mørkret til dei som vert ført bak lyset av djevelen.[2]

Musikalsk har «Precious Angel» ein lett reggaestil.[1] Forfattarane Oliver Keys og John Nogowski har særleg trekt fram gitarspelinga til Mark Knopfler på songen.[1][3] Musikkritikaren Michael Gray reknar songen som ein av dei beste på Slow Train Coming.[4]

«Precious Angel» fint på ei rekkje samlealbum av Bob Dylan, inkludert Dylan og Playlist: The Very Best of Bob Dylan '70s.[5] Songen vart spelt på dei fleste konsertane til Dylan i 1979 og 1980, men er ikkje spelt sidan den gongen.[1]
