Justo Jorge Padrón (født 1. oktober 1943[8] i Las Palmas på Kanariøyene i Spania, død 11. april 2021 i Madrid) var en spansk dikter, essayist og oversetter. Hans verk er blitt beskrevet som en bekreftelse av den moderne kanariske diktnings styrke.[9]

Biografi

Etter studier i juss, filosofi og litteratur ved Universitetet i Barcelona vendte han i 1967 til hjembyen og virket der som advokat i syv år. Han skrev der sine første dikt, og tok opp kontakt med andre unge spanske diktere. I 1968 ble han medtatt i José Agustín Goytisolos antologi Nueva poesía española. I 1974 avsluttet han sin advokatpraksis for å vie seg helt til diktningen. To år etter ble han utvalgt av utenriksministeriet og Instituttet for hispanisk kultur til å reise rundt i Latin-Amerika som representat for den nye generasjon innen spansk diktning. I 1979 representerte han Spania på den fjerde verdenskongress for diktere i Sør-Korea og ved den første festival for europeisk diktning i Leuven. Jorge Padróns er blitt oversatt til over 30 sprøk, og selv viet han seg til også til oversettelse, som spesialist på skandinaviske språk.

Hsn døde i Madrid av covid-19 den 11. april 2021 i en alder av 77 år.[10]
