Richard Marson (født ca. 1967) er en britisk forfatter, TV-produsent og regissør,[1] best kjent som tidligere sjefredaktør for BBCs barne-TV-serie Blue Peter.[2]

Marson begynte i BBC rett fra Universitetet i Durham, hvor tok eksamen i 1987 med en grad i engelsk litteratur.[3] I september 2007 ble Marson avskjediget fra sin stilling ettersom han tok en redaksjonell beslutning om å navngi den nye katten i Blue Peter «Cookie» og således overse resultatene fra en avstemning som ble gjort online i januar 2006.[4][5] Til tross for dette forble han TV-seriens «uoffisielle historiker»[6]

Marson har regissert og produsert en rekke dokumentarer, blant Children's TV on Trial, Upstairs Downstairs Remembered,[7] og Tales of Television Centre (2012).

Hans biografi over John Nathan-Turner, den niende og siste produsenten av «klassiske» Doctor Who, titulert JNT: The Life and Scandalous Times of John Nathan-Turner, ble utgitt i 2013 av Miwk Publishing. Biografien ga detaljer om Nathan-Turners karriere, hans vanskeligheter med sine overordnede i BBC, og omtalen av ikke akseptabel oppførsel av produsenten førte til at biografien skapte overskrifter i en del aviser.[8] I 2015 utga han boken Drama and Delight: The Life of Verity Lambert.[3]
