Esquiceir[4] ou Esquixequir[5] (em turco: Eskişehir) é uma cidade e área metropolitana (em turco: büyükşehir) do centro-oeste da Turquia. É a capital da província homónima e faz parte da Região da Anatólia Central.

Em 2012 a população da área metropolitana era de 659 924 habitantes, divididos entre os distritos (em turco: ilçe) de Odunpazarı e Tepebaşı. O primeiro tinha 368 589 habitantes em 2012, dos quais 361 030 no centro urbano. O distrito de Tepebaşı tinha no mesmo ano, respetivamente, 305 632 e 298 894 habitantes.[6]

A cidade teve o nome de Dorileia ou Dorileu[7] (em grego: Δορύλαιον; romaniz.: Dorýlaion; em latim: Dorylaeum) na Antiguidade e Idade Média. O nome em árabe é Daruliyya. Eskişehir, que no passado se escreveu Eskishehir, significa velha (eski) cidade (şehir).

É conhecida como uma cidade universitária, pelo elevado número de estudantes das duas universidades locais, a Universidade Eskişehir Osmangazi e a Universidade da Anatólia (Anadolu Üniversitesi), da qual se diz que é a maior da Turquia e a segunda maior do mundo em número total de matrículas desde a sua fundação em 1958.[carece de fontes?]
