Camp militaire d'Elsenborn este o arie protejată (arie specială de conservare — SAC[1], sit de importanță comunitară — SCI, arie de protecție specială avifaunistică — SPA[2]) din Belgia întinsă pe o suprafață de 2.561,47 ha, integral pe uscat.

Localizare

Centrul sitului Camp militaire d'Elsenborn este situat la coordonatele 50°28′27″N 6°13′54″E / 50.474053°N 6.231675°E ({{PAGENAME}}).

Înființare

Situl Camp militaire d'Elsenborn a fost declarat arie de protecție specială avifaunistică în decembrie 2016[2] pentru a proteja 18 specii de animale. Alte tipuri de protecție:

  • sit de importanță comunitară (în octombrie 2002)
  • arie specială de conservare (în decembrie 2016)[1][3][4]

Biodiversitate

Situată în ecoregiunea continentală, aria protejată conține 14 habitate naturale: Ape stătătoare oligotrofe până la mezotrofe, cu vegetație de Littorelletea uniflorae și/sau de Isoëto-Nanojuncetea, Cursuri de apă de la nivel de câmpie la nivel montan, cu vegetație Ranunculion fluitantis și Callitricho-Batrachion, Pajiști umede nord-atlantice cu Erica tetralix, Pajiști uscate europene, Formațiuni ierboase bogate în specii de Nardus, dezvoltate pe substraturi silicioase în zone montane (și în zone submontane, în Europa continentală), Liziere de ierburi înalte hidrofile de câmpie și de nivel montan până la alpin, Fânețe montane, Turbării active, Mlaștini oligotrofe degradate, capabile încă de regenerare naturală, Mlaștini turboase de tranziție și turbării mișcătoare, Depresiuni pe substraturi de turbă de Rhynchosporion, Păduri de fag Luzulo-Fagetum, Păduri acidofile de stejar bătrân cu Quercus robur pe câmpii nisipoase, Mlaștini împădurite.[4]

La baza desemnării sitului se află mai multe specii protejate:[3]

Pe lângă speciile protejate, pe teritoriul sitului au mai fost identificate 31 de specii de plante, 1 specie de amfibieni, 12 specii de mamifere, 19 specii de nevertebrate.[3]
