Caliscelis (лат.) — род полужесткокрылых насекомых из семейства Caliscelidae (надсемейство Fulgoroidea). Известно около 20 видов. Встречается в Африке и Евразии; один вид интродуцирован в Северную Америку[1][2].
Этимология
Родовое название происходит от двух слов греческого происхождения: καλός (красивый) + σκελος, σκελις (бедро)[1].
Описание
Цикадовые насекомые мелкого размера, длина около 5 мм. Передние или средние бёдра и голени уплощенные или листовидной формы. Метопе и кориф соединяются примерно под углом 105°-110°[3]. Формула шипиков задней ноги: 6(7)-2-2; лоб без килей[4].
Классификация
Известно около 20 видов. Таксон был впервые выделен в 1833 году французским энтомологом Франсуа де Лапортом Кастельно как монотипический по типовому виду Caliscelis heterodoxa Laporte, 1833[5]. Род включают в трибу Caliscelini и подсемейство Caliscelinae из семейства Caliscelidae (Fulgoroidea)[3][4][1][6].
