Луи́джи Ри́ва (итал. Luigi Riva; 7 ноября 1944, Леджуно — 22 января 2024, Кальяри) — итальянский футболист, нападающий[6]. Большую часть карьеры провёл в клубе «Кальяри», является лучшим бомбардиром за всю историю команды. За это клуб навечно закрепил игровой № 11 за Ривой и убрал его из ротации номеров клуба[1]. Лучший бомбардир в истории сборной Италии — 35 голов[7]. По версии МФФИИС занимает 42-е место среди лучших футболистов Европы XX века. Занимает 74-е место среди лучших игроков мира по версии «World Soccer», занимает 33 место среди ста лучших футболистов XX века по версии Placar. Почётный житель Кальяри.

Карьера

Клубная карьера

Луиджи родился в Леджуно, в провинции Варезе, Ломбардия. Он начал свою карьеру в 1962 году, когда присоединился к «Леньяно». Рива был приобретен «Кальяри» в следующем сезоне и играл там до конца карьеры[8]. Он дебютировал за «Кальяри» 13 сентября 1964 года, когда команда проиграла 2-1 против «Ромы». 21 января 2024 года Рива был госпитализирован в больницу Сан-Микеле в Кальяри из-за острого коронарного синдрома. По словам оказывавшего ему помощь медицинского персонала, первоначально его состояние было стабильным, и ему предложили пройти чрескожное коронарное вмешательство, но решение он решил отложить[11][12]. Однако вечером следующего дня состояние здоровья Луиджи Ривы внезапно ухудшилось, и он умер от сердечного приступа в возрасте 79 лет[11][13][14].
