Opština Dragaš

Opština Dragaš po zakonima privremenih isntitucija Kosova, se nalazi na krajnjem jugu Kosova i Metohije a nastala je od nekadašnje opštine Gora i nekadašnje opštine Opolje i obuhvata 35 naseljenih mesta.

Prema rezultatima popisa stanovništva 2011. godine u opštini je živelo 33.997 stanovnika od toga je bilo 20.287 Albanaca (59,67%), 12.957 Goranaca (36,35%) i .900 Bošnjaka (2.06%).[1] Srpski jezik kao maternji jezik je navelo 1.795 stanovnika na istom popisu.

Goransko stanovništvo srednje obrazovanje završava po nastavnim programima Republike Srbije u srednjoj školi u naselju Mlike.

Istorija

Gora je oduvek imala neku vrstu autonomnosti. Upravni oblici su bili ili opština, srez, ili nahija... Do 1945. godine Gora je imala svoj srez. Goranima se ukida 1945. godine bilo kakva samouprava, nasilno se Gorancima menjaju prezimena i formira se opština Dragaš, u kojoj su Albanci bili većina. Krajem osamdesetih godina dvadesetog veka zakonom SR Srbije podeljena na dve gotovo etnički čiste opštine: Opštinu Gora sa sedištem u Dragašu, sa apsolutnom etničkom većinom Goranaca, i opštinu Opolje u kojoj su većina bili Albanci. Kako opština Opolje nije funkcionisala ona je ugašena već 3. novembra 1992. godine, tako što je pripojena opštini Prizren, tako su Goranci zahvaljujući lojalnosti Republici Srbiji i dalje živeli u čisto goranskoj opštini.

Dolaskom UNMIK-a područje opštine Opolje je ponovo pripojeno opštini Gora i stvorena je ponovo opština Dragaš u kojoj Albanci čine većinu, što za veliki deo goranskog stanovništva predstavlja pretnju minorizacijom i marginalizacijom. Problem predstavlja i pokušaj nasilnog proglašavanja bosanskog jezika za maternji jezik Goranaca u opštini.
