Shayba ibn Hashim (Arabic: عَبْدَالْمُطْلِبٍ; c. 497–578), better known as Abd al-Muttalib was an Arab tribal leader who served as chieftain of the Banu Hashim. He was the grandfather of the Islamic prophetMuhammad.
When Muttallib died, Abd al-Muttalib succeeded him as the chieftain of the Banu Hashim. Following his uncle al-Muṭṭalib.[3]
