Tarihçe

Köyün adı, 1515 yılı kayıtlarında Akyoma olarak geçmektedir.[4]

Coğrafya

Köy, Giresun il merkezine 25 km uzaklıktadır.[5] Köy, Giresun'un güneyinde olup, Mesudiye köyü üzerinden D.865 numaralı Giresun-Dereli-Sivas devlet yoluna 10,2 km.'lik bir köy yoluyla bağlıdır.[6]
