II. Dan

II. Dan (? - 1 Haziran 1432) Eflak voyvodasıdır. Girdiği taht kavgalarında beş kez başarılı olmuş ve eflak tahtına aralıklar ile tekrar hakim olmuştur. Eflak tahtındaki bu beş dönemden (1420-1421, 1421-1423, 1423-1424, 1426-1427 ve 1427-1431), dördü sadece yedi yıllık bir süre içerisindeydi.

Erken dönem

II. Dan, Eflak prensi I. Dan'ın oğluydu.[1] Babası yerine vâris olarak büyük oğlu I. Radu'yu bıraktı. I. Dan 1387'de öldürüldükten sonra, kardeşi Mircea tahta çıktı.[1] Dan, Mircea'nın hükümdarlığı sırasında amcasına sadıktı. Mircea, Eflak'ın Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'na yıllık haraç ödemeye zorlanan ilk hükümdarıydı. Tek meşru oğlu I. Mihail eş yöneticisi yaptı. I. Mircea öldükten sonra Dan oğlu Mihail'e karşı tahtta hak iddia etti.[1] Osmanlılar 1419'da Michael'ı yendi ve onu haraç ödemeye ve Tuna boyunca Yergöğü ve diğer kaleleri terk etmeye zorladı.[2] Eflak boyarları Dan'a kaçmaya başladı. Michael Osmanlılar ile yaptığı anlaşmayı reddetti ardından Dan 1420 yılının başlarında Eflak girdi Başlangıçta, Michael karşı koyabilirdi.[3] Ancak Osmanlı birlikleri Dan'a katıldı ve Michael ve Macar müttefiklerini 1420 yazında yenmesini sağladı.[4]

Saltanat

II. Dan ilk kez tahta 1420'de geçti, 1421'de kaybetti ama aynı yıl yeniden kazandı. Başta birçok kez tahta geçebildi çünkü sahada yetenekli bir askeri komutandı. 1423 yılında II. Dan, Osmanlılar'a karşı savaşta onları yenerek bir ordu kurdu. Osmanlılar II. Radu'yi tahta tekrar yerleştirmek için Eflak'a saldırdılar. 1425'te yine Osmanlıları yendi, Eflak ordularında paralı asker kullanarak ilk savaşını kazanmıştı. Bu savaşta II. Dan çok sayıda Bulgar askeri istihdam etmişti. 1427 ilkbaharında, II. Dan, II. Radu'yu son kez tahttan indirdi, ardından Osmanlıları tekrar yendi. Giurgiu'daki kaleyi geri almak için kaybettikleri topraklara saldırdı . Muhtemelen II. Dan, bu savaş sırasında veya sonrasında II. Radu'yu öldürdü, çünkü daha sonra tarihi kayıtlarda yer almıyor. Bununla birlikte, tarihi kayıtlar seyrektir ve kesin olarak bilinmemektedir.  1432 yılında ülkesi büyük bir Osmanlı ordusu tarafından işgal edildi. Dan savaşta yenildi ve öldürüldü. Bunu, 1436'da hastalıktan ölümüne kadar hüküm sürecek olan Mircea cel Batran'ın oğlu I. Aleksandr Aldea ve onun yerini Vlad Tepes'in babası II. Vlad Dracul aldı. II. Dan'nın oğlu II. Basarab, 1443'te Vlad Dracul'un oğlu II. Mircea'nin yerini alacaktı. Ancak oğlu, babasının askeri yeteneğinden yoksundu ve Vlad Dracul'a bir yıl içinde tahtını kaybedecekti.[5]
