Marc Raibert

Marc Raibert, (22 Aralık 1949) Boston Dynamics'in kurucusu ve CEO'su.

MIT’de  elektrik mühendisliği ve bilgisayar bilimleri profesörlüğü ve aynı zamanda enstitünün yapay zeka laboratuvarının üyeliğini yapmış bir kişidir. Kendisinin çalışmalarının temel konuları fiziksel robotlar ve hareketli yaratıklar dahil olmak üzere, dinamik olarak hareket eden sistemlerin tümüdür. Kendisi 1973’te Northeastern Üniversitesi’nden elektrik mühendisliği bölümünden mezun olduktan sonra MIT’de doktoraya başladı. ‘Durum Uzay Modeli ile Motor Kontrolü ve Öğrenme’ başlıklı doktora tezinde robotik teknikler kullandı. Biyolojik davranışı modellemek için 1977-1980 yılları arasında Jet Propulsion Laboratory ve Kaliforniya Teknoloji Enstitüsünde (Caltech) robot algılama ve kontrolü üzerine çalıştı.

Marc Raibert 1981 ve 86 yılları arsında Carnegie-Mellon Üniversitesi Bilgisayar Bilimleri Bölümü ve Robotik Enstitüsünde çalıştı. 1986 ve 1995 yılları arasında MIT' de çalıştı. Carnegie-Mellon Üniversitesi ve MIT' de iken Raibert Leg adını verdiği kendi laboratuvarını kurdu. Burada yaptığı çalışmalar kuracağı Boston Dynamics'in bilimsel temelini oluşturdu. Kendisinin Legged Robots That Balance adında bir kitabı vardır ve Uluslararası Robotik Araştırmaları Dergisi yayın kurulunda yer almaktadır. 2008'den beri de Ulusal Mühendislik Akademisi üyesidir.
