Michael Barnett AM (24 Ocak 1946 – 29 Aralık 2023), Avustralyalı siyasetçi.[1]

Hayatı

Barnett, 24 Ocak 1946'da Belper, Derbyshire, İngiltere'de doğdu. Pinjarra Yüksek Okulu'nda öğrenim gördü.[2]

İşçi Partisi'nden siyasete girerek Rockingham'ı temsilen 1974-1996 yılları arasında Batı Avustralya Yasama Meclisi'nde delege ve 1986-1993 yılları arasında Meclis Başkanı olarak görev almıştır.[1][3] Hizmetleriyle 2016'da Avustralya Şeref Nişanı'na layık görülmüştür.[4]

Ölümü

Barnett, 29 Aralık 2023'te demans hastalığı nedeniyle 77 yaşında vefat etti.[4][5]
