808 State adalah grup musik elektronik Inggris yang dibentuk pada tahun 1987 di Manchester.[3] Nama grup musik ini diambil dari nama mesin drum Roland TR-808.[4] Grup ini diinisiasi oleh Graham Massey, Martin Price dan Gerald Simpson, yang diikuti dengan perilisan album debut, Newbuild, pada bulan September 1988.[3] Grup musik ini memperoleh kesuksesan komersial pada tahun 1989, ketika lagu mereka "Pacific State" diputar oleh DJ BBC Radio 1 Gary Davies.[5]
