Apuleius (/[invalid input: 'icon']ˌæp[invalid input: 'jʉ']ˈliːəs/; kadang disebut Lucius Apuleius; c. 125 – c. 180) adalah seorang penulis prosa Latin. Dia adalah orang Berber,[1] dari Madaurus (kini M'Daourouch, Algeria). Dia belajar filsafat Platonis di Athena dan berkelana ke Italia, Asia Kecil, serta Mesir kuno. Dia juga masuk ke dalam beberapa kultus pemujaan atau misteri. Dia pernah dituduh menggunakan sihir untuk memikat seorang janda kaya.
Karyanya yang paling terkenal adalah novel berjudul Metamorphoses, atau yang lebih dikenal sebagai Keledai Emas. Itu adalah satu-satunya novel Latin yang masih tersisa secara utuh. Isinya menceritakan petualangan Lucius, yang mencoba-coba sihir dan secara tidaks engaja berubah menjadi seekor keledai.
