Asosiasi Universitas Eropa (EUA) mewakili lebih dari 800 institusi pendidikan tinggi di 48 negara, dan memberi mereka forum kerjasama dan pertukaran informasi tentang pendidikan tinggi dan kebijakan penelitian.[1] Anggota Asosiasi ini adalah universitas Eropa yang terlibat dalam pengajaran dan penelitian, asosiasi nasional rektor dan organisasi lain yang aktif dalam pendidikan tinggi dan penelitian.[2]

EUA adalah hasil penggabungan antara Asosiasi Universitas Eropa dan Konfederasi Konferensi Rektor Uni Eropa. Penggabungan itu berlangsung di Salamanca, Spanyol pada tanggal 31 Maret 2001.[butuh rujukan]

Pada bulan Maret 2022, EUA menangguhkan 12 anggota asal Rusia setelah 2022 address of the Russian Union of Rectors (RUR) mendukung Invasi Rusia ke Ukraina 2022, karena hal ini "bertentangan secara diametral dengan nilai-nilai Eropa yang mereka pegang saat bergabung dengan EUA”.[4][5][6]
