Asteropeia adalah genus tumbuhan berbunga. Genus ini mencakup 8 spesies semak dan pohon kecil yang telah diketahui, semuanya endemik di Madagaskar. Ini merupakan satu-satunya genus dalam famili Asteropeiaceae. Anggota famili ini berupa pohon atau semak hijau abadi.
Anggota famili ini dipisahkan dari Theaceae berdasarkan anatomi kayu oleh Sistem APG tahun 1998, dan ditempatkan dalam ordo Caryophyllales di dalam klad eudikotil inti. Famili ini terdiri dari satu genus tunggal, Asteropeia, yang asli dari Madagaskar.
Menurut AP-Website, genus ini membentuk klad bersama dengan famili Physenaceae (juga berasal dari Madagaskar).
